Matthew R. "Rick" Bryson
Owner/Licensed Funeral Director
A native of Smyrna, Rick graduated from Smyrna High School in 1983. He earned an M.S. from West Virginia University, a B.S. from Delaware State University, and an A.A.S. degree in Mortuary Science from Catonsville Community College, in Baltimore County, MD. He was licensed as a Delaware Funeral Director in 1989, and received his Delaware Life Insurance license in 1988.
Rick has been involved in a wide array of organizations through the years, including serving on the Smyrna Planning and Zoning Commission, the Smyrna Redevelopment Authority, a Past President of the Smyrna-Clayton Rotary Club, a member of the committee for the Smyrna-Clayton Veterans Memorial, and various other church and community committees. In addition, he is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Delaware State Funeral Directors Association, where he served as Secretary for several years.
Rick enjoys music, reading, sports, cars, and spending time with Carol and their children.

A Dover native, Carol graduated from Holy Cross High School, Dover, DE in 1987. She earned bachelor's degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Wesley College, Dover, DE, and earned an M.A. in Psychology from Washington College, Chestertown, MD. Carol has served in various committees in her church. She enjoys cooking, baking, crafts, and caring for their children.
