Obituary

William G. Nagy, of Smyrna, formerly of Landenberg, PA, passed away at his home on Friday September 14, 2018. He was 82.

He was born in Carteret, NJ on October 10, 1935, the son of the late Bela G. and Verona Nagy.

He graduated from Carteret High School in 1953 where he played junior varsity football. He received a certificate from the Delehanty Institue of Architectural Design in New York City, and later worked as a carpenter millwright's helper. Mr. Nagy served four years in the U.S. Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant in minimum time. He was honorably discharged in 1959.

He was employed as a Draftsman for over 20 years at DuPont, and retired in 1991. He then worked for the State of Pennsylvania for over 10 years as a building inspector. After retiring and moving to Florida, he worked for the City of Cocoa as a Plans Examiner for approximately 5 years, before moving back to Delaware in May 2010.

He enjoyed the ocean, his vegetable garden, puzzles, and building model airplanes. He also greatly loved his dog.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Ann Nagy, who passed away on September 11, 2018; and a son, Timothy E. Nagy.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Barnidge and Sheila Nagy; and two grandchildren, Chris Barnidge and Megan Barnidge.

Services and burial will be privately held at Rahway Cemetery, Rahway, NJ.
