William Herman Faries, Jr (Bill), 86, of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2016.

He was born May 31, 1929 in Blackbird, DE, the son of the late Elnora Mae VanArsdall and Herman William Faries.

He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the reconstruction after WW II. He worked for Edgell Construction, and retired after 23 years as a heavy equipment operator with the State of Delaware, Dept. of Transportation.

He lived in Blackbird, Smyrna and Millsboro, DE, and enjoyed boating, Enduro motorcycles riding, and traveling to Virginia and Tennessee. He was also a Life member of Citizen's Hose Company, Smyrna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses: Dora LaMercer LaSage (m: 5/31/53) and Mary Etta Lasana (m: 7/31/07)

He is survived by: two daughters Dora Radke; Melody Lasana (Clint); two sons William Faries; and Warner Faries (Joyce); a step-daughter, Janet Lasana; eight Grandchildren, Jesse Graham (Billy); D. Clifford Lasana (Andrea); Alexandria Dziedzinski (TJ); Christopher Faries; Tiffany James (Brett); Christine Conner (Sean); Jenna Berlen (Paul); and Brittany Faries; two step-grandchildren, Lloyd Massey and Mari Massey; and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday May 21 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at a later date in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
