Obituary

William J. Erschen, 64, Blackbird, Delaware passed January 14, 2019. He was born September 8, 1954 in Pontiac, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Betty Erschen. Bill grew up in Pontiac, and lived in several small towns in Central Illinois before moving to Delaware with his wife and son.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Bullock), and son, Jake, brothers Steve (Joyce) Erschen, and Chuck (Sandy) Erschen, sisters, Connie (Darryl) Whitledge and Mary (Mike) Newman, mother-in-law Betty Bullock, brother-in-law Bill (Rhonda) Bullock, and 11 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Betty Erschen and his brother Stan.

Bill hauled freight for many years in Illinois, driving for Willie Anderson, Brandt Truck Lines and Consolidated Freightways. After moving to Delaware he worked in manufacturing. He retired in 2012.

Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, and 4 wheeling in West Virginia. He liked to tinker in the garage and loved watching old westerns, as well as game shows. Bill had a great sense of humor and a unique outlook on life. He had a mischievous side, which often got him in trouble, but his smile helped him get out of it.

Funeral services will be private.
