Obituary

Wayne Stanley , 67, of Dover, w ent home to be with the L ord on Friday September 30th, 2017 with his loving wife by his side.

Born in Jersey City, and raised in Hoboken NJ , Wayne moved to Dover D E in 2003 to enjoy retirement with his wife after a 40 - year carrier as a longshoreman and teamster retiring from the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Wayne had a love and passion for music which lead to a very successful pursuit as a Club DJ for 40 years. He was also an a vid singer and loved the music of the 50s and 60s. Wayne was a longtime member of Dover Elks Lodge # 1903 and was currently the Exalted Ruler. He dedicated his time and talents selflessly to the lodge and exemplified their motto "Elks Care - Elks Share". His presence as a volunteer could be seen in all aspects of the lodge. He will be sadly missed. He was a parish i oner of Holy Cross Church and met some wonderful , caring people there.

Wayne is predeceased by his mother Dolores Stanley (Slezak) , his father Lucius Stanley, an infant son Robert Wayne ; sister - in - law Maureen C assidy ; brother - in - law John Cassidy.

He is survived by his Loving Wife and Soulmate of 37 years , Patricia (Patti) ; Sister s Starr (Edward) White , and Kelly (Steve) Leone ; Mother - in - Law Joan McTigue ; Brother s- in - law Michael McTigue (Lorraine) ,and John McTigue (Cindy) ; Nephews and Nieces Shawn Stanley (Amy), Jennifer Mastropetro (David), Megan White, Edward White, Lauren Leone,Steven Leone, Sean McTigue (Jennifer), Steven Cassidy (Maria), Patrick Cassidy (Ashley) ; s everal Great Nieces and Nephews ; and numerous Cousins. Special Thanks to Bill & Elaine Englert and Helen & Ed Bonsall .

A viewing will be held 2-6 PM Sunday October 8 at Matthews-Bryson

Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Mass of Christian Burial

will be 12 PM Monday October 9 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S.

State St., Dover, DE. Burial will be held 12 PM Tuesday October 10 at

Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ.
