Virginia M. Morris (Tootsie, Ginny), 89, formerly of Smyrna, passed on Saturday January 4, 2025, at her home in Milford.
Tootsie was born on June 8, 1935, to Harry T Sr and Virginia (Williams) Ennis and graduated from John Bassett Moore High School in 1953. Before his passing, Donald and Tootsie loved taking trips in their RV with friends and Tootsie continued traveling on numerous trips and cruises after his death with these same friends. Several days and nights a week she enjoyed playing cards (Hand & Foot was the game of choice and she was usually the scorekeeper) with her friends. She was an active member of Smyrna Wesleyan Church until she moved to Milford. She loved being with her family and also enjoyed supporting her grandchildren in their sporting and school activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Passwaters, of Milford, with whom she lived; sons, David and Jeanne Morris of Smyrna and Greg and Shirley Morris of Milton; grandchildren, Sarah (Purn) Potter, Patrick (Shannon) Smith, Cara (Matt) Boyles, Eric Morris, Jared Morris, and Hannah Morris (Dallas Millner Sr); great-grandchildren, Purnie, Paisley, Pailyn, Peyton Potter, Cullen and Finn Boyles, and Dallas Millner Jr.; a brother, Bruce Ennis; sister-in-law: Shirley Ennis; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, June Knotts.
She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Morris; brothers, Harry (Bud), Richard, and Robert Ennis; sisters, Jean (Mel) Onofrey and Doris (Ronnie) Jones; sister-in-law Grace Ennis; nephews, Mel Onofrey, Vernon Ennis, Roger Ennis, and Owen Cole; a niece, Dixie Sasser; Donald's siblings, Pearl (Earle) Cole, Owen (Retha) Morris, Mayretta (Ralph) Bailey; and a son-in-law James Passwaters Sr.
Funeral services will be held 12 PM Saturday January 11 at Smyrna Wesleyan Church, 433 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, with a visitation from 10 AM until the time of services. Burial at Barrett's Chapel, Frederica will be private.
