Theodora Sutherland

Born on the sunny island of Trinidad and Tobago, Theodora was proceeded in death by her parents Thaddeus and Beatrice Sutherland, her siblings Marjorie Simon, Emanuel John Sutherland and her son John Garcia.

Theodora migrated to the United States in 1967 as a domestic worker and was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance in New York. She was a volunteer at MOT Senior Center where she enjoyed quilting. She was an avid gardener and loved her flower garden and plants.

She leaves to mourn her sister Veronica Sutherland-Gittens in Trinidad her three children Kathleen, Lester and Esther, daughter in laws Nancy Joseph and Helen Garcia, 11 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Graveside services will be privately held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Polycarp Church, 55 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.
