Obituary

Sara Jane Shea, 79, passed away on November 15, 2018. She lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Shea currently was living with her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Todd Seger, and her son, Galen Steele in Smyrna, DE but resided in the Citrus Ridge Community in Davenport, FL.

She was born in Johnstown, PA on May 10, 1939 to the late Thomas Charles and Olive Grace Hancock.

She had been a Phlebotomist at Sinai Hospital, along with St. Joseph's Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Sara resided most of her life in Baltimore and Harford Counties in MD before retiring in Davenport, FL. After retiring, she worked at Sizzler restaurant, Sea World and Disney World in Orlando, FL.

She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends, camping and taking cruises, visiting casinos, and bowling. During every holiday, she loved making homemade candy and chocolates for friends and family. Sara enjoyed visiting with her grandkids during the summers at Circle M campground and taking them to the amusement parks in Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Samuel Shea; and a son, Roy Richard Steele.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Steele, Galen Steele, Nancy Seger and her husband Todd Seger, and Thomas Steele; grandchildren, Jennifer Steele, Laura Dickens, Lacy Steele, Gail Steele, Galen Steele, Joseph Huff, Stephanie Huff, Joshua Sexton, and Lea Steele; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Hancock and wife Martha; a sister Norma Huss and husband Bob.

Memorial services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday December 8 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Interment will be private.
