Salvatore LaSardo, 72, of Smyrna, DE, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, Staten Island, NY, and New Jersey, passed away at his residence on January 11, 2022.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 15, 1949, the son of the late Alexandria Anna Granata and Salvatore LaSardo.
Sal grew up in a 3 family Brownstone in Coney Island, NY with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He graduated from Grady, HS, Brooklyn, NY and attended 1 year of community college. He then entered the apprenticeship program with IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), Local Union #3. He spent 41 years with Local Union #3 in New York City as a General Foreman with ADCO Electric as an electrician.
His interests included construction, building, working with tools, helping his neighbors, and doing electrical work. He loved babysitting grandkids, talking, and helping everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane LaSardo; children Salvatore LaSardo, Jr., Lisa Johannsen and her spouse, Ronnie Johannsen Jr.; grandchildren Montana, Logan, and Josephine (JJ); two brothers, Joseph La Sardo and spouse Anita LaSardo, and Ralph LaSardo and spouse Vera LaSardo; and nieces and nephews, Vincent LaSardo, Andrea LaSardo, Michael LaSardo and his spouse Elizabeth LaSardo, and their daughter, Amelia, Victoria Trudel and her spouse Stephen Trudel and their children, Brady and Benjamin.
A visitation will be held 10 AM – 1:30 PM Thursday January 20 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where services will be held at 1:30 PM. Masks are required by all in attendance.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
