Rose M. Morris, age 73, of Cheswold, DE, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born June 9, 1953 in Wilmington, DE. Rose was the child of Irene F. LaCrosse and Clyde Hood Sr. She spent her life raising a beautiful family, and also retired from the Delaware Department of Corrections as a records supervisor.

She enjoyed traveling the states with her closest friends and spending quality time with her five grandchildren. Her love of hummingbirds and animals in general was an endearing quality she possessed. Rose was known for her incredible kindness and her quirky sense of humor. Rose’s dedication to driving for Meals on Wheels was such a joy for her.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Irene Wilson and Clyde Hood; her step-father, Fred Wilson; her husband Wayne Morris; her twin brother, William Hood; her sisters Elizabeth and Annie; and her partner, Larry Brown.

She is survived by her children, A.J. Morris, Crystal Morning, and Christopher Morris; grandchildren, Wayne T. Morris, Emma Morris, Haley Hartnett, Jacob Morris, and Garrett Morris; her brother, Robert Hood Sr.; sisters, Bonita Lamp and Debbie Yancy; and her best friends Beverly Chance and Nancy Kline who will miss her dearly.

A time to celebrate Rose’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Mamie Warren Senior Center, 1775 Wheatleys Pond Rd, Smyrna, DE 19977; or to the First State Animal Center & SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
