Rosanne B.
Donofrio
July 17, 1941 – February 1, 2025
Rosanne "Roe" Bernadette Donofrio passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2025, at the age of 83. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, C. Joseph "Joe" Donofrio; her children, Kenneth Donofrio, Rosemarie Eaker, and Joseph Donofrio; her four grandchildren—Anthony, Nicolai, Marina, and Dante; and her three great-grandchildren. Rosanne is also survived by her brother, Arthur D'Angelo, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness. She was predeceased by her son, Kevin Donofrio, and her parents, Rose and Charles D'Angelo.
Born in New Jersey on July 17, 1941, Rosanne was a lifelong resident of Bernardsville for 63 years before relocating to Smyrna, DE in 2004. In 1959, she proudly graduated from Bernards High School, where she would later work in the main office from 1982 to 2003 - a role in which she was beloved by both staff and students alike. Before beginning her career at the school, Rosanne spent over two decades as a devoted homemaker. During that time, she enjoyed volunteering at her children's school functions, cheering them on at their extracurricular activities and competitions, and hand-making their award winning Halloween costumes year after year - which she became known for throughout the district.
Married to Joe for 64 cherished years - a fact she often celebrated - Roe embraced life's simple joys. After retirement, the couple treasured precious moments spent with family and friends in their Delaware home, and delighted in watching their grandchildren grow. In her "golden" years, Rosanne took pleasure in crafting, reading, playing bingo, and preparing traditional Italian family recipes.
An active community member throughout her lifetime, Roe also contributed her generous spirit to many charitable organizations, as well as her high school reunion committee.
Rosanne's gentle heart and vibrant spirit enriched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held later this year in both Delaware and New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and may be sent to:
