Obituary

Mr. Roland J. Wells passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2022, after a two- and half-year battle with "The long goodbye".

The youngest of eleven children, he was preceded in death by many sisters and brothers, his loving and devoted mother Adele and his father Ernest Wells. Also preceding him in death, his beloved wife Linda, whom he steadfastly cared for during her short battle with cancer.

A cherished father to his daughter Lindsey Wells, whom he leaves behind, along with his two sons Roland Jr. and Marc Wells. He also leaves behind two sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.

For many years, Roland was the proud owner of his home improvement company, 'RJ Wells, General contracting', based on Kent Island, MD. During that time, he established a loyal following of customers until his retirement in 2005. In 2008, the family relocated to Dover, DE. While living in Dover, Mr. Wells was an avid singer of Karaoke music at many local establishments. A man of never-ending talents, including musical instruments such as guitar, piano and vocals; he was also an excellent artist, painter and repairman. There was never anything broken that he couldn't fix.

Roland had many hobbies, including collecting antique cars and model trains. The latter of which he was well known locally for his excellent repair and restoration talents, through which he made many dear friends. More than anything, he should be remembered for his kindness and generosity but most of all for being a wonderful and devoted father.
