Obituary

Robert R. (Bob) Wessell, of Clayton, went to be with the LORD on Monday March 25, 2013. He was 73. Bob was born in Worton, MD. He grew chickens for Perdue in the 60's, worked at Globe Battery, sold real estate, and later worked for Berry Van Lines as a salesman for 28 years. He retired in 2004. While he was at Berry's, he earned Top Salesman awards almost every year. He became a bus driver - first for Providence Creek Academy for 1 ½ years, and then he retired from St. Anne's Episcopal School in Middletown, DE after 6 years. He loved his "bus children". He loved to hunt, especially upland birds. Bob worked as a guide for upland bird hunting at Schrader's Hunting in Chestertown, MD. Bob especially loved the LORD and was active in several small groups and his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elva Wessell; 3 sisters; a brother; and a son, Robert Jr. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beth; sons Rick (Lindsay); Art (Colleen); Mark (Linda); Mitch (Tracy); and Clay (Patty); a brother, William (Carol) Wessell; a sister, Delores Dempsey; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday April 6, 2013 at Kenton United Methodist Church, 74 W. Commerce St., Kenton, DE.
