Robert Irving Peck, of Smyrna, passed away at home on April 26, 2018. He was 79.
He was born in Queens, NY on May 23, 1938, the son of the late Nathanial Hawthorne Peck and Adele Peck. Robert was a graduate of Jamaica High School and Queen's College, both of New York.
Bob enjoyed building things. He made a dining room table, a blanket chest, and shelves, among many other things. He also greatly enjoyed travelling, including a special trip to Europe in 1990 where he visited London, Paris, Switzerland, Venice, Florence, and Rome. He also travelled to Hawaii, Cancun Mexico, and took a riverboat trip from Memphis to New Orleans down the Mississippi River. On the return trip, they travelled on a train named the "Spirit of St. Louis". Another interest was photography, and he took some wonderful photos through the years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Peck; his step-children, Christina Lynn Bobb and Gregory Francis Bobb; a sister, Judith Edelstein; and two dogs, Chance (a Jack Russell Terrier), and Sadie, (a Poodle Mix).
Memorial Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday May 19 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. A lunch will follow at Nancy's home in Smyrna.
