Robert Hill, of Townsend, passed away on Tuesday August 4, 2015. He was 79. He was born on April 1, 1936 in Boissevain, VA. In 1966, he moved to Wilmington, DE bringing his wife Ellen and three children. He was employed with Smurfit & Stone as a millwright and retired in 1998. He was preceded in death by his son Keith and his parents Kellis and Nancy Hill. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen Hill; his daughter Rhonda and her husband Ron of Felton; his son Blake and his wife Mary of Townsend; granddaughters Trisha, Jessica, and Sabra; grandsons, Rocco, Kevin, and Taylor; great-grandchildren Anthony Grossi and Blake Giangrant; sisters Vera, Bernice, Dorthea, Joy, Elaine, and Gail; and brothers Jimmy and Andy. Mr. Hill enjoyed fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed playing with George, his trusted canine buddy, but mostly the time he spent with grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday August 8 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Interment will be private.
