Robert C. Hemphill Jr., of Dover, died on Monday August 14, 2017. He was 69.

He was born in West Chester, PA on October 23, 1947 to the late Robert Hemphill and June Cloud Hemphill. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He was employed in various positions through the years: as a Navy aircraft mechanic; a manager at Mitchners; and as a clerk at Drakes Automotive.

He enjoyed boating and fishing. He will be remembered as always having a great sense of humor and a warm personality. He loved kids and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his common law spouse, Trudy McMullen; a daughter, Amanda Hemphill; and his siblings, William Hemphill and Dennis Harless.

He is survived by his children, Robert Hemphill III; James Bonds; and Melanie McMullen; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Cindy Taylor.

Services and interment will be private.
