Richard G. (Dick) Marencin, Sr., 90, of Smyrna, DE, died on Friday October 19, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Sandy Run, Pennsylvania and resided in Media, PA before moving to Smyrna in 2003. He was a 1945 graduate of Chester High School and graduated from Penn State University, Swarthmore, PA campus.
Mr. Marencin served with the United States Army Field Artillery in Korea between 1946-1948, and was a member of the American Legion. He retired in 1985 from Bell of Pennsylvania after 33 years and held a number of management positions including Assistant Treasurer.
He was the son of the late John and Mary Marencin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Nellie Scott Marencin; brothers, Albert Marencin, John Marencin, Jr., and David Marencin; and a sister, Anna Jean McClosky.
He is survived by his sons, Robert, of Smyrna, DE and Richard Jr., of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Diane Marencin, of Ft. Myers, FL; two granddaughters, Nancy and Jennifer Marencin, of FL; and a sister, Dolores Carlone, of Upland, PA.
A Graveside Christian Burial Service will be privately held at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover, DE.
