As we welcome the year 2021, we say goodbye to our friend, mother, Bubby - Rhoda M Friedman formerly of Milford, Delaware.

Rhoda passed away on January 4, 2021, at the age of 88. Her infectious smile, love of life, passion for gardening, and other creative hobbies will be missed but not forgotten.

Rhoda was a first generation American whose parents emigrated from Russia. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts she graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) as a fashion designer. She lived in New York City and worked in the garment district until marrying in 1956. She and David moved to Milford, Delaware where she taught first grade for 14 years then became a world traveler.

Rhoda had an eye for taking a memorable photograph. She delighted in sharing her slide shows with numerous people, she enjoyed memberships in many clubs, and volunteered as well.

Rhoda is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years David Friedman and her brother Gerald Zarrow. She is survived by her children Deborah (Elwood) Zook, Jessica Friedman, Paul (Wanda) Friedman and two special sons Pepe (Elena) de Paramo and John (Sergio) Ruark; 10 grandchildren- Amy Zook, Dusty (Heather) Zook, Cynthia (Alvin) Atkinson, Travis Mick, Colin Mick, Katie Friedman, Ben Friedman, Crystal Clarke, Leonor Elena de Paramo, Andrea de Paramo; and 11 great grandchildren with love in their hearts and smiles on their faces.

Say a prayer, visit a loved one, be well in each of your lives. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in her name to the Milford Public Library, the First State Animal Center and SPCA, or the Alzheimer's Association.

Our family invites those who wish to say goodbye to join us at Sharon Hills Cemetery, 2928 Sharon Hill Rd, Dover, DE for a graveside service Friday January 8 at 10:00 AM. Masks are requested.
