Obituary

MSG Randolph Spicer, of Smyrna (but his heart was still in Box Elder, SD), passed away in Newark, DE on December 19, 2022. He was 63.

He was born in Elkin, NC on February 10, 1959 to Ray Von Spicer and the late Freida Spicer.

He dedicated his life to the Air Force. He served a total of 23 years enlisted. The first 17 years of his career were spend doing air traffic control and he finished his service performing liquid fuel maintenance. Upon retiring from active duty, he continued to work for the liquid fuel department for the next 17 years on base as a civilian.

He was a member of the American Legion and was the Commander for a few years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting/fishing, and working with his hands and doing small projects.

He is survived by his children, Randi (William) Hawkins, Jamie (Sheena) Spicer; three grandchildren, Roby Hawkins, Alyssa Spicer, and Alex Spicer; his father, Ray Von Spicer; and siblings, Greg Spicer, Dexter Spicer, Philip Spicer, Abigail Watkins, and Penny Castevens; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services with military honors will be held 11:00 AM Monday January 2 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
