Patricia Elizabeth Govorko (nee Evans), 91, of Dover, DE, and formerly of Waldwick, NJ, passed away on Friday Dec 9, 2016 at Kent General Hospital, Dover.

She was born Nov. 19, 1925, in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of the late Madeline (Nana) and Patrick Evans.

She traveled and lived in many places due to husband's military assignments.

Mrs. Govorko was a 30-year member of Dover Ladies Elks Lodge #1903 where she held the honor of being named Lady of the Year. She was also a 25-year member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

She enjoyed collecting stamps, making crafts and wedding favors, and playing bingo. In addition, she was an avid follower of NASCAR driver Johnny Benson and occasionally could be found at Dover Downs. She bowled on many leagues for 40 years.

She will be remembered for her love of cooking: when you visited, you ate whether you were hungry or not. She possessed a great laugh and sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by siblings Thelma Boyd, James Evans, and George Evans.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Nick Govorko; her daughter, Gayle Barcus, and her son-in-law, Raymond Barcus Jr. both of Blackbird, DE.

A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Wednesday December 14 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Services and interment will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
