Patricia Ann
Bonsignore
May 28, 1942 – December 11, 2025
Patricia Ann Bonsignore ("Pat"), of Smyrna, Delaware, passed peacefully on December 11, 2025, with her family alongside her at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware. She was 83.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 28, 1942, the daughter of the late Pauline and Edward Dorman. Pat was a homemaker who cherished raising and caring for her family. She raised her family in Valley Stream, New York, later retired to Townsend, Delaware, and made her home in Smyrna to be closer to family.
Pat enjoyed regular card games with her siblings over the years. A devout Christian, she was very charitable to various religious institutions and drew comfort and strength from her faith. She could often be found listening to the Word of God. She also found pleasure in a cup of coffee and playing solitaire.
Pat was deeply grounded, with a wry sense of humor and a blunt honesty that left little room for guessing. She spoke plainly and made people laugh more often than she probably realized. Her directness came from truth, protection, and simply being herself. She wasn't one for grand displays of affection, but she showed care in her own way—steady, real, and unmistakably hers.
She is survived by her children, Peter (Barbara), Barbara, and Paul (Michele); her grandchildren, Robert, Samantha, James, Michael, Joseph, Anthony, Dena, and Leah; and her great-grandchildren, Iris, Lewis, Milo, Vincent, and James. She also leaves behind a growing family, including another great-grandchild expected soon.
In addition, she is survived by her siblings, Mary Keeler, Margaret McDonald, Florence Drennen (Jon), Frank Dorman, Lorraine Raichle, Susan Vargas, Josephine Fleischer (Steve), and Nick Dorman (Debbie), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her lifelong husband, Peter Bonsignore; a son-in-law, James Harbour; a grandson, Peter V. Bonsignore; and her siblings, Eddie Dorman, June Nicotra, and Pauline Waldman.
Pat lived her faith quietly and faithfully, drawing strength from God's Word and offering prayer and guidance to those she loved. She trusted fully in the Lord's promise that a place had been prepared for her.
"In my Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you." — John 14:2
