Nancy Ann Zellers, 64, of Woodland Beach, Delaware, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 surrounded by her family and friend, Kristine, Josh, and Faithlyn.
She was born in Wilmington, DE on October 21st, 1955, daughter of the late Doris Smith Barton and Herbert Ackinson. She grew up in Minquadale, in New Castle DE and attended De La Warr High School. She worked at Riverside Hospital as a housekeeper and worked at a daycare in Newark Delaware. In 1989 she moved to Clayton Delaware. Upon getting sick, she moved to Woodland Beach, Delaware in 2016.
She liked reading books, listening to music, camping in her beach house in Lewes, DE years ago, and spending time with family. She was known to many as "Miller Mama" and is remembered as often saying, "Can I have a kiss?"
She is survived by her children, Kristine Zellers (Joshua), and Laura Cubbage (Chris); a granddaughter, Alexis Zellers; her siblings, Diane Reedy, James Ackinson, Mary Foust (Harry), Jennifer Sampson (Harry), Jeanette Neff (Mark), and Harold Engle; special nephews Fred Wilson (Jessica), and Jeff Sampson (Heather); special nieces, Tonda Heath (Angelo), Sherry Buchanan (Ronnie), and Serena Sampson; and her pets, Junior, Reina, and Sampson. She has many friends, but is greatly missed by her two childhood best friends, Lynn Pudvan and Maryann Davis.
She was predeceased by her spouse, Horace E. Zellers; siblings, Bucky Buchanan and Barbara Mooney; and her pet Tiny.
The family wishes to thank Delaware Hospice for keeping her comfortable during her end days.
A visitation will be held from 12-1:00 PM on Friday January 24, at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Services and interment will be 2:00 PM Friday Jan. 24 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
