Michael Cole Sartin, 62, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Sunday August 6, 2023, at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
He was born in Wilmington, DE on September 9, 1960, to the late William Henry Sartin and Antonia Rose Maiorano.
In his youth, he loved playing games with his brothers, especially "Tinny Tin Can", and playing baseball and football. He was fascinated with Batman and would run around with his Batman cape on. Mike enjoyed riding his mini bikes with his brothers. From a very young age he fell in love with dancing.
He attended Mc Kean High School and started his career in asphalt at Richards Paving. He later opened his own business, MC Paving and Sealcoating. He also worked for his brother David at Sartin's Paving until 2012 when he left to work for the State of Delaware at DelDOT. He was the hardest worker and would run circles around the younger guys. He was a mentor to all of his coworkers.
Family and gatherings were his priority. He also enjoyed restoring his 71 Chevelle, crabbing, football, gardening, camping, racing, and Karaoke. He loved taking his daughters to their cheerleading competitions and watching his grandson play baseball.
He enjoyed attending classic car shows as well as Cruise Week and Bike Week in OC. His favorite quotation was "Stayin A Live"!
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Theresa Y. Sartin; his children, Nicola M. Trincia (Joseph L. Trincia Jr.) and Angela R. Sartin; a grandson, Joseph M. Trincia; his in-laws, Richard J. and Marie Seewald; siblings, Joseph Sartin (Pam), of Newark, DE, Irvin Sartin (Patti), of Wilmington, DE, David Sartin (Michele), of Bear, DE, and Ronnie Sartin (Stella), of Smyrna, DE; a brother-in- law, Richard B. Seewald (Alison); many nephews and nieces; and his pets, Bella Girl & Turbo.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Cole Maynard; his siblings, Patrick J. Maynard, and Deborah Maynard Phipps.
Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday August 19, 2023, at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W Commerce St., Smyrna, DE 19977, where friends may call at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private.
