Michael G. Kaminski, of Clayton, passed away after a long illness on Saturday January 17, 2015. He died peacefully surrounded by his family. He was 43. Mike spent 15 years as a Journey Mechanic and Welder, most recently working for I.D. Griffith in Wilmington. He was a member of the Local 19 Sheet Metal Workers Union where he was an active member on the Executive Board; a Senior Shop Steward; and served as the chairman to the Delaware Contract Negotiating Committee. In addition, he was an Associate Delegate of the Delaware Building Trades Council and served on the Leadership & Charity Committee. He also served as a Delaware Political Action Volunteer. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and restoring tractors. He was preceded in death by his father, Karl A. Kaminski. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Anne da Ponte Kaminski; children, Adrianna and Michael Kaminski, all of Clayton, DE; his mother, Christina Kaminski; and his sister, Dana Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:00 AM Friday January 23 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 135 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE, where a visitation will be held in the parish hall at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
