Melinda Marie (Weidlein) Archer went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2016, at age 56.

Melinda was born on August 6, 1959 to Philip L. Weidlein Sr. and Maxine Moser in Elkton, Maryland.

She resided with her husband, Melvin Archer, in Smyrna, DE. She is survived by her parents; her step-mother, Micki Weidlein; the father of her children, Robert Tharp Sr.; her daughter Danielle Tharp-Strouse and her husband Justin Strouse; her son Robert Tharp Jr. and his wife Kaitlyn Tharp; her six siblings: Philip Weidlein Jr., Debroah Taylor, Johnny Weidlein, David (Kelli) Weidlein, Lee (Sonya) Weidlein and Philisa (Dave) Weidlein-Crist; and several nieces and nephews.

Melinda was a kind and compassionate individual who enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and animals. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She was predeceased by her grandmother Mary Weidlein, who was the light of her life.

Services will be held 12:00 PM Friday March 4, 2016 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE. The viewing will start at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Old. St. Anne's Cemetery, Middletown, DE.
