Marsyl L. DePhillis, of Dover, DE, passed away on Friday October 25, 2024, at Bay Terrace Rehabilitation, Dover. She was 81.

She was born in Richmond Kew, England on February 19, 1943, to the late Leslie Read and Ethel Hawkins. She emigrated to the USA in the 1960's and worked at Citibank and as a teacher's assistant at a school for the deaf.

Marsyl enjoyed knitting and coloring. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Smyrna, DE.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond DePhillis; daughters, Stephanie Sforza; Vanessa Hammel, and Lauren Stevenson; grandchildren, Brianna Stevenson, Baylee Stevenson, and Cassidy Hammel; a sister, Pat McKenna; and a brother, Robert Read.

She was predeceased by a sister, Julie Gardner.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday October 30 at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna, DE, with a visitation beginning at 2 PM. A reception will follow in the St. Peters Parish Hall. Interment will be private.
