Mark G. Barcus, of Townsend, passed away at home on Friday February 24, 2012. He was 50. He was born in Dover, the son of Raymond A. Barcus Sr., of Townsend, and the late Jean Barcus. Mark was a 1979 graduate of Middletown High School, and had been employed for many years with the DE Division of Motor Vehicles and with DEL DOT. He enjoyed reading, gardening and the outdoors, watching the Simpsons on TV, as well as playing with his dog Odie. He was a social member of Townsend Fire Co. In addition to his father, he is survived by three siblings, Penny (Dennis) Gentry, of Little Creek; Raymond A. (Gayle) Barcus Jr., of Townsend; and Wayne (Susan) Barcus, of Clayton; 4 nieces and nephews, Daniel and Michelle Gentry; Heather Barcus; and Stacy Yeatman; and 5 great-nieces and nephews, Julianna, Ryan, Kayleigh, and Brayden Gentry; and Thomas Yeatman. Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday February 29 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9:00 PM. Interment will be private.
