Marjorie E. "Margie" Gillespie, of Smyrna, passed away on Monday May 21, 2012. She was 51. She was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Eugene and Florence Thompson. She moved to Blackbird in 1964 and graduated from Middletown High School. Margie was employed for many years as a cake decorator, and enjoyed the beach, gardening, animals, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angel Gillespie. She is survived by five children, Davey Outten; Samantha, Ashley, and Jake Gillespie; and Ernie Carlisle III; two brothers, Eugene S. Thompson III; and Donnie Thompson; two sisters, Sharon Ogden, and Ruth Ann Alexander; and six grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held 7:00 PM Friday June 15 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Burial will be private.
