On September 4, 2015, at the age of 84, Marie T. Nolte died peacefully in her bed. She is survived by her husband Robert A. Nolte; son Robert R. Nolte and wife Dena; son Daniel A. Nolte and wife Pamela; and daughter Tanna Marie Newell and husband Mark; and 7 grandchildren. Marie was a long time resident of Smyrna and member of St. Polycarp Church. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was the nurse/trainer for Wilma Rudolph in the 1960 Rome Olympics. Marie was also the school nurse at the Smyrna Middle School for over 15 years, and her passion for the well-being of the students was always a priority. Her love and kindness towards people was tremendous. She will be deeply missed.
