Obituary

Mildred Marie Buchan Erhart Bragg passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Courtland Manor Nursing Home. She was 84 years old. Born in Wilmington, DE on March 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John Buchan and Ruth (Bursler) Buchan. Her first husband, William Francis Erhart, preceded her in death in 1954. She married Kenneth R. Bragg on Christmas Eve 1957 and they spent the next 55 years together. In her early years she worked for a sewing factory in the Wilmington area. Later sewing and quilting became her hobbies. She also did upholstery for antique cars that her husband, Ken, restored. Marie enjoyed accompanying her husband on many camping trips and to antique car shows over the years. Everyone who knew Marie will remember her quiet demeanor and her big heart, always looking for the good in people and taking care of others. Marie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Kenneth R. Bragg of Smyrna, son Donald L. Erhart & wife Joan of Smyrna, daughter Diane L. Erhart of Kenton, and daughter Linda M. (Bragg) Masten & husband Mark of Magnolia, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Clifford Buchan & wife Henrietta of Wilmington, and Jim Buchan of Smyrna. She was preceded in death by her sister Charlotte (Buchan) Rossi. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, De 19977.
