Margaret M. "Peggy" Rouse Gengenbach, of Smyrna Delaware, passed away on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE. She was 83.

She was born April 28, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Rouse. She had resided in many places through the years, including Brooklyn, NY; Greenlawn, NY; Closter, NJ; Cali, Colombia; Alexandria, VA; Upper Marlboro, MD, and most recently, Smyrna, DE.

She completed high school and then enrolled in a Nurse training program. She was an entrepreneur and had been employed as a production manager for a records management company.

She enjoyed basketball, gardening, cooking, and mothering. She was a devout Christian and her favorite sayings were "Jesus I love you!" and "Amen!!!"

She is survived by her husband, Albert Gengenbach (married 7/3/54); Janice and Jean; Janet, Michael, and Bonnie; Audrey, Judah, John, and Ellie; Maureen, Barbara, and Marilyn.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her life on Tuesday April 18 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Immediately following, all are welcome to join the family at Sheridan's Irish Pub, 44 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
