March 19, 1944 – March 7, 2025
Kenneth J. Musto Sr. (Kenny), of Pembroke Pines, FL, formerly of Smyrna, DE, passed away at Memorial Regional Hospital Hollywood, Broward County, FL on March 7, 2025. He was 80.
He was born in Holyoke, MA on March 19, 1944, the son of the late Albert S. Musto and Hilda M. Koehler. Kenny graduated from Coventry High School, Coventry, RI, and later earned an Associate's degree from DE Technical & Community College. Kenny served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968 with decorations of AFM 900-3/ NDSM, AFM 900-3/ AFOUA SOGB.
After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, he worked for 26 years and retired from the State of Delaware as a Warehouse Supervisor at Delaware Correctional Center. After retirement, he moved to Florida where he worked at the Florida Department of Veterans Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines. He also enjoyed employment with the Florida Driver License Bureau, Markham Park Shooting Range, and the Carnival Cruise line.
In his teen years in Rhode Island, Kenny was a DeMolay member of Manchester Lodge No. 12 F. & A.M. and volunteered at Hopkins Hill Fire Department in Coventry. In Delaware, he was a Life Member of the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company, serving as the President from 1982 until 1991. Kenny served as a Smyrna Town Councilman from 1990 until 1999.
He was a fantastic baker and loved tinkering and fixing things. But, his most profound passion was supporting his children and their activities by chauffeuring, attending, and coaching.
He is survived by his wife, Bootsie Williams; a son, Kevin Musto (Katrina); a daughter, Amy Musto; siblings, Neal Musto (Terri) and Trudy McClure (Mike); and three nephews, Jason McClure, Alex Musto, and Peter Musto (Felicia).
A visitation will be held on Friday April 4th from 5:30-7:00 PM at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 PM.
Interment will be privately held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's memory may be sent to the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company, 318 Main St. – Leipsic, Dover, DE 19901.
