Judith A. Griffin, 83, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Smyrna, passed away surrounded by her husband and son on May 31, 2023.   She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

Judy was born in Utica, NY, raised in Gloucester and Binghamton, NY, and eventually moved to DE.  While attending William Penn High School in New Castle, she met her husband, Bob, during a dance at Holloway Terrace Fire Company.   They graduated and were married in 1958, living first in New Castle and eventually in Smyrna, DE.   Her first job was working for Diamond State Telephone Company, where she stayed for eight years.   She then moved to her long-term career at Delmarva Power & Light Company where she held numerous positions until she retired after 30 years.  She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Citizens' Hose Fire Company in Smyrna, and she enjoyed watching her son, Brian, play in the Smyrna High School Marching Band.

A true beach-lover, she and Bob spent many summers at Pot Nets in Millsboro, DE enjoying the sun & sand, pool, and socializing with their many friends.  After retirement, they made the beach their forever home.

Judy was predeceased by her parents Charles and Gertrude Dagle.   She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob), son, Brian Griffin and his husband Steve Graff, grandchildren, Justin, Scott and Zachary, sister-in-law, Aileen, and numerous nieces/nephews, and her evil cat, Willie.

Services will be private.  Donations may be made in loving memory of Judy to the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Citizens' Hose Fire Company, PO Box 234, Smyrna, DE 19977.
