Joyce Ann Faries, of Middletown, passed away in Seaford, DE on January 21, 2017 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was 55.

She was born in Wilmington on March 28, 1961, the daughter of the late Harold S. Haman Sr. and Mildred E. Robinson.

Joyce graduated from William Penn HS in 1979, and married her husband Warner G. Faries on March 27. 1982 at St. Georges Church. They formerly lived in St. Georges, and at the DE beaches before moving to Middletown. She was a homemaker, baby sitter, and elder-care provider.

She enjoyed being outside, boating, laying on the beach, camping, gardening, and taking care of her furry friends.

She is survived by her husband, Warner Faries, of Middletown; her children, Christine Conner (Sean), Jenna Berlen (Paul), and Brittany Faries (fiancée Matthew Bryant); grandchildren Alexis, Joilyn, Katelynn, Lillian, Nicholas, and Logan; her siblings, Harold S. Haman Jr. (J. Debra), Jeanine Conn (David Sr. - deceased), Karen Trimmer (Barry), Barry Haman, and Thomas Haman; nieces and nephews, Carrie, David, Ashley, Ali, Clifford, Jesse, Tiffany, and Robert; and many furry friends.

Services will be held 12:30 PM Saturday January 28th at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
