Joseph "Jerry" Wagner, passed away on February 13, 2018 at his home. He was 93.
He was born June 1, 1924, son of the late Charles Abraham Wagner and Molly Rothman Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was a member of St. Polycarp Parish, Smyrna, and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and philately.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepchildren, Joseph Pohren, Grace Fetta, and Teresa Pohren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Grace (formerly Pohren, nee Lamb); his children and stepchildren, Edward Pohren (Elaine), Rebecca Wagner (Larry Sproul), Regina Chadwick (Tom), Jeremy Wagner (Brenda), Christopher Pohren, Stephen Pohren, Madeleine Sharp (Stephen), Gene Pohren (Jennifer), and Stephanie Schoenleber; 40 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Irving (Vida).
A viewing will be held 7-9 PM Monday February 26 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 AM Tuesday February 27 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 55 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE. Burial will be 2 PM Tuesday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758516, Topeka, KS 66675; or to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
