John Russell Weldy II (Jay), of Smyrna, DE, passed away at his home on Saturday March 14, 2026. He was 63.

He was born in Camden, New Jersey on April 22, 1962 and had been a longtime employee of Burke Equipment Company.

Jay is survived by his partner of 20+ years, Linda Earls; sisters, Patricia (Jim) Squier of Lincoln, DE, and Leslie (James) Workman, of Jacksonville, FL; seven nephews; two nieces; and seventeen grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Russell Weldy and Vivian Conover Weldy; and his beloved dog, Spice.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
