John J. O'Brien, of Smyrna, formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away on January 8, 2017. He was 91.

He was born in Queens, NY, the son of the late James and Margaret O'Brien.

Mr. O'Brien was a Navy veteran of World War II, and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after many years of service.

He is survived by a friend, Kay Ikeda, and four nieces.

Services and interment will be private.
