Joan E. Deisem, 71, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Smyrna, passed peacefully at her home on Monday December 2, 2024.

She was born in Dover, DE on December 27, 1952, the daughter of the late Robert Ryan Sr and Alida Ryan.

Joan was a graduate of John Bassett High School class of 1970 and had worked at DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware in the I.T. Department and later for Wal-Mart.

She enjoyed spending time at the beach, watching baseball games, and reading books. Joan was the first women that held the position of president for Smyrna Clayton Little League from 1996-1997. She served on the board of Directors and held several officer positions for the Smyrna Clayton Little league. She was an active member of the Smyrna Band Boosters.

Survived by her children, Marc Deisem (Laurie) of Smyrna, and Jeff Deisem of San Diego, CA; a granddaughter, Katie Deisem of Smyrna, (whom she truly loved); her siblings, Robert Ryan Jr. (Betty), Joyce Nabb (Michael), and Ed Ryan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Deisem; and a son, Matthew Deisem.

Services will be private at the request of the family.
