Jerome (Jerry) C. Schnitzer, of Clayton, passed away on Monday April 11, 2016 at Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. He was 74.

He was born July 4, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Herman and Gertrude Schnitzer. He served 24 ½ years in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1989 as a Master Sergeant. He had served with the 436 ^th Airlift Wing and the 9 ^th Airlift Squadron Pelicans.

Mr. Schnitzer loved gardening, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. (Golt) Schnitzer, of Clayton; a daughter, Rhonda Rubin, of Seattle, WA; two sons, Jeffery Schnitzer, of Towson, MD, and Curt Gruber, of Clayton; a sister, Frieda Schapiro; a brother, Marty Schnitzer; and four grandchildren.

Services and interment with military honors were privately held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
