Obituary

Herman Bradt Jr. "Hollywood", 55, passed away on Monday January 1, 2024 in Georgetown, DE.

He was born October 13, 1968 in Sicklersville, NJ to Herman Bradt Sr. and Joyce Holzer. He graduated from William Penn High School, New Castle, DE and studied business at DE Tech, Wilmington, DE.

He was self-employed as a Mason for over 30 years, but was certainly a "Jack of all trades". He adored his grandbabies more than anything as well as spending time with his kids, family, and friends.

Herman loved being at the beach, camping, and visiting the North Carolina mountains. He was never one to pass a yard sale or thrift store, and he enjoyed nothing more than grilling a good meal to share while watching a movie or rooting for the Phila. Eagles. Herman was a dream chaser, one that never gave up or stopped trying. He avidly played the same exact lottery numbers for over 25 years, three times a week, and firmly believed that eventually, he'd "hit it big". Anyone who knows Herman certainly saw his smile and heard his laugh. And if Herman met you, he didn't consider you as a friend, to him you were his family.

We also wanted to share a quote that he had jotted down in his notebook recently: "If everyone realized they were crazy, there would be no more crazy"!

He is survived by his son, Jesse Bradt (Jessica) and his granddaughter Jane (Hads) of Independence, VA; his daughter Alissa Bradt (Jason) and his grandson Jay (JBird ), of Bear, DE. He is also survived by Lori Bradt for 30 years, better known as his baby's momma or as the wife he never divorced, with whom he shared a lifetime only they understand. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Stigile and stepfather Fred Stigile, of Georgetown, DE; a brother, Bruce Bradt, of Georgetown, DE; and two nieces and one nephew.

He was predeceased by his father, and a brother, James Bradt.
