Obituary

Harry John Candler Jr. 69 of Middletown, Delaware passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 13, 2019 with loved ones surrounding him.

Harry was born on July 23, 1950 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Harry was a 1968 graduate of DeLaWarr High School and retired from DuPont after 38 years of loyal service.
Harry had a love for old cars, racing, and his 1964 Nova. If there was a car show he was there! He has won multiple awards for his Nova that he was very proud of.

Harry is survived by his wife of 48 years Linda M. Candler, their five children (4 surviving) Kelly L. Barker (Calvin) of Clayton, Cortney A. Rash (Jeremy) of Clayton, Staci R. Candler (Jawan) of Middletown, and Kyle J. Candler of Kenton. They have 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by their daughter Katie M. Miller who passed away suddenly in 2015 and his parents Harry J. Candler Sr. and Dolores K. Candler.

Services will be at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, Delaware on Tuesday October 22, 2019 at 1:30pm for visitation with services to follow at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at Blackbird Community Center, 120 Blackbird Forest Rd., Townsend, DE 19734. The placing of the Urn will be at a later date for immediate family.
