Harold Francis Schrader, of Smyrna, passed away at his home on Sunday March 30, 2025. He was 61.

He was born December 21, 1963 to the late George Vernon Schrader Jr. and the late Anna Frances Abrams Schrader in Elkton, Maryland.

Harold worked for the State of Delaware Division of Accounting for 17 years before he became disabled in 2002. He also worked for the Town of Clayton part-time as a crossing guard. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole. They were married on October 19, 1985. Also surviving are his daughters, Jennifer (Justin) Carpenter; Julie (Andrew) McKinney; a grandson Kovy Carpenter; a granddaughter, Svea Carpenter, two brothers, George (Diane) Schrader, and Kenny Schrader; his brother-in-law, George Joines Jr., mother-in-law, Madeline Joines; brother-in-law, Don Swieder; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Schrader; his sister, Gail Schrader Swieder; and his grandparents on both sides.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM Friday April 4 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, with services beginning at 12 PM. Interment will be private.

In honor of Harold, the family requests that casual clothing be worn – especially anything related to the Philadelphia Eagles or your favorite sports team (No Dallas Cowboys)!
