Geraldine (Gerry) M. Harkness, 85, of Dover, DE, passed away on Sunday August 20, 2023, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital Dover, DE.

She was born August 8, 1938, in Fairbank, PA to the late Jesse and Elsie Campbell. She graduated from Redstone High School, Republic, PA in 1957.

Gerry retired as a telemarketer from MBNA Bank.  She served as a former Police Commissioner for town of Cheswold, DE and was given a Distinction Award for her outstanding service to the town.

She enjoyed gardening, feeding wildlife, and attending church functions.

She is survived by two sons, Brian (Sheila) Harkness and John Harkness; 3 Grandchildren; and her siblings, Helen, Eugene, Catherine, and Alice.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Ina and Irene.

Funeral Services will be held 12 PM Monday August 28 at MOT Seventh-day Adventist Church, 858 Noxontown Rd, Townsend, DE, where a visitation will be from 11 AM until time of services. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
