S. Clampffer
April 30, 1922 – June 20, 2024
Elloise S. Clampffer (Lois), of Townsend, DE, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday June 20, 2024. She was 102 years old.
She was born in Smyrna Mills, Maine. Lois attended Nursing school and became a R.N. In World War II, she became an Army nurse, and landed on Omaha Beach. She followed the Army across Europe, ending up in a hospital in Berlin.
She enjoyed watching pro sports throughout the year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. "Reds" Clampffer Sr.
Lois is survived by her 4 children Lee, Jim, Nancy, and Lois; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:30 AM Saturday June 29 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 5720 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA, with a visitation at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Tuesday July 2 at St Peter's Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna, DE with a luncheon following in the parish hall.
