Edward L. Fields Sr., of Clayton, DE, passed away on March 26, 2016 at his home. He was 63.

He was born in South Charleston, WV on August 11, 1952, the son of John and Rosie Fields.

He worked as carpenter and concrete finisher for most of his life, most recently with Cavan Construction, Aston, PA.

He loved to fish and hunt, and especially enjoyed his annual hunting trip the week after Thanksgiving every year for the past 41 years. He loved spending time with his dogs, especially Hulk until his passing in April, 2015. He was also a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed rooting for Dale Jr. every Sunday.

He will be remembered as someone who would give anything to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Connie Smith; and siblings, Cathy Walker, Barry Fields, and Gail Dye.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children: Shane Fields, Melissa Fields, Michelle Russum, and E.J. Fields; his grandchildren, Jadta Fields, Jazmyn Fields, Ryan Lewis, and Ethan Russum; his siblings, Doris Tabor, Diane Sowards, Denise Davis, and Dennis Fields; and his ex-wife, Charlotte Dodge.

A Celebration of his Life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday March 31 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. The family will be accepting visitors at 1:30 PM. Interment will be private.
