Dorothy Jean Spalding, 82, of Smyrna, Delaware passed away surrounded by her family on May 15, 2015. Dorothy was born in Steele, Missouri on December 5, 1932 to William and Bertha (Chandley) Wyatt. Dorothy was a loving wife to James Edward Spalding Jr. from May 18, 1954 until his passing on April 7, 2010. Dorothy was a very gregarious and charming person with a gleam in her eye. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like a close friend. She enjoyed traveling as an outgrowth of her husband Jim's military service. She loved golf, bowling, playing cards as well as spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also had a great passion for football whether pro, college, or high school games. Dorothy was a loving mother and homemaker and the last survivor of 13 siblings. She is survived by her two children. Her daughter Cynthia Golt and her spouse Robert Golt. Her son James Edward Spalding III and his spouse Frank Maglio Jr. Her grandson Shawn Pritchett and his spouse Mary. Granddaughter Selena Pritchett. Grandson Shannon Pritchett and his spouse Amber. She is also survived by two great grandchildren. Mass of Christina Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at St. Polycarp Church. 135 Ransom Lane. Smyrna, DE 19977 at 12:00 pm with a brief viewing before at 11:00 am at St. Polycarp Church. Dorothy's family would like to thank Dr. Theresa P.
