Donna Leona Forestieri, of Bear, DE, passed away on Monday March 11th, 2019 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, with her loved ones by her side. She was 52.
She was born in Chester, PA on March 22, 1966, to Harriet Forestieri and the late Alfred Forestieri.
Donna attended Upper Moreland High School in Willow Grove, PA. She worked most of her life as a chef in many area restaurants. She spent time as a resident of Bear, DE and also lived in Delaware County, PA for many years.
She was skilled at playing pool and participated in a pool league. She always loved spending time by the water, whether at the beach, pool, or on a boat. She liked to travel and was an avid lover of music, attending many concerts in her lifetime, including Woodstock 1994. She was a passionate Eagles fan and traveled to watch them in the Super Bowl in 2005. Of all the things she enjoyed, she was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and school activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Jessica Lawhorn and her husband Stephen Lawhorn; Granddaughters Cassidy and Riley; her mother, Harriet Forestieri; two brothers, James Forestieri and his wife Amy Forestieri, and Matthew Forestieri and partner Angela Simpson; nieces, Cheyenne, Annabel, and Harper; nephews, James and Fiurio; and many loving aunts and uncles, cousins, family and friends.
She was predeceased by her nephew Eric Poole.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held on Friday, March 22nd from 12PM-4PM at the Delaware Association of Police (DAP) Hall, located at 2201 Lancaster Avenue in Wilmington, DE. The memorial service will begin at 12:30PM.
Thank you to the New Castle County Paramedics and the nurses and doctors of the Christiana Care Emergency Room and the Medical Intensive Care Unit for their kindness and compassion.
