Donna J. Ballard, of Smyrna, DE, passed away from Leukemia on June 8, 2022 at her home under the care of Seasons Hospice.

Donna was born on June 16, 1943 to William S. Gillian Jr. and Margaret L. Jones in Louisville, KY. She attended Dover Middle and High School, Caesar Rodney High School, and graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bruce Ballard; sons Timothy A. Dear of Wittmann, AZ; Scott and Renee Ballard, of Smyrna; Stephen M. and Tracie Dear, of Monteagle, TN; and recently passed, Dennis B. Ballard, of Smyrna.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Samantha Dear Antonioni and Ryan of Pueblo, CO, Page Dear Stewart and Jesse, of Pueblo, CO, Eric B. Ballard, of Smyrna, Alexis L. Ballard, of Bradenton, FL, Jill M. Ballard, of Smyrna, Katelyn Ballard and Natalie Ballard, of Sewickley, PA; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Lucas, Brantley, and Noah, all of Pueblo, CO.

Donna is also survived by sisters Anna Gillian Brinker and Joe, Carol Gillian Anders, both of FL, and sister-in-law Jeanne Ballard James, of MA; one niece and many cousins.

Before retirement, Donna worked at General Foods, Town of Smyrna, Astro Power, and Quaker City Motor Parts. Upon retirement, Donna and Bruce traveled extensively - a grand tour of Europe, Italy, Alaska, and many other countries. They made many friends in the First State Corvette Club, where she was secretary for over 17 years.

There will be no services. Everyone will grieve in their own way.
