Dawn Edith Lee Moran (Singleton), 67, of New Castle, DE and formerly of Townsend, DE, passed away on Thursday May 5, 2022, at New Castle Health and Rehab, New Castle, DE.
She was born in Wilmington, DE on December 12, 1954 to the late Elsie Virginia Merritt and Paul Austin Singleton.
She earned her GED and loved her job at the old Hearth restaurant in Odessa DE. She had many customers that adored her and would ask for her.
She enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and family. Face Time was always fun due to the ongoing pandemic. She loved hanging out with her friends at the rehabilitation facility. She enjoyed cooking, movies, especially Elvis Presley, her crossword puzzles, and word searches. She was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church in Smyrna, DE.
Mom loved to joke and had a wonderful sense of humor, even with the many health issues that she had. We always had a good laugh. She will be missed!!
She is survived by her children, Steven Gargalas (Wife Sarah), Maria Gargalas-Henri, Michelle Neilio (Husband Andrew), and Thomas W. Gargalas (Wife Nicole); 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; her siblings, Paul Singleton Jr., Allen DeRose, Christine Hanavin, and Toni DeRose.
She was predeceased by her siblings Joanne Singleton, Dennis Singleton, and Steve Singleton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:30 AM Friday May 20 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, 55 Ransom Lane, Smyrna. After the funeral, friends are invited to join the family for food and drink at Two Stones Pub in Middletown, DE. Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be sent to St. Polycarp Church, 55 Ransom Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977.
