David D. Pletsch passed away January 25, 2023, at the age of 78.  He was the son of the late Howard H. and Clara M. (Shaff) Pletsch.

David graduated from Smyrna High School in 1963. He was a proud member of the Delaware National Guard. After numerous night courses, he was employed by Reichold Chemical Co., Aramco Oil (in Saudi Arabia) City of Dover Power plant and Duke Energy as an Instrument Technician. "Uncle Dave", which he was lovingly referred to by everyone he came in contact with had varied interests.  Dave enjoyed spending time with his fellow members of the Dover Elks Lodge, watching his family and friends play tennis every Sunday, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and spending time with his family on "The Compound".

Besides his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother Howard H. Pletsch Jr.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law James and Veronica Pletsch, his niece Kate (Dan) McCarthy, nephew Tim (Nina) Pletsch and his four great nephews, Danny, Tucker, Max and Lincoln.

The celebration of Dave's Life scheduled for Saturday February 4 at the Dover Elks Lodge has been postponed. Further information will be forthcoming once plans are updated.
